CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Police have recovered a pickup truck from the Cumberland River with a body inside, and they believe the body may be that of a Clarksville man who’s been missing for almost a month.
At 1:13 p.m. Monday, Clarksville Police were notified by Lindsay Bussick of Chaos Divers, a company located out of southern Illinois, that they found a vehicle in the river near the McGregor Park boat ramp, according to police spokesman Scott Beaubien.
The vehicle was a 2016 white Dodge Ram 1500 that belonged to Jason Spencer, who has been missing since Nov. 9.
Spencer’s son reported him missing on Nov. 14 and said he left their house on Rebecca Lane, off of Fort Campbell Boulevard, on Nov. 9 at around 3 a.m., according to previous reports.
The vehicle was pulled out of the river at about 3:30 p.m. today.
“There is a deceased person inside the vehicle, and the family of Mr. Spencer has been notified of the situation, however, the body has not been positively identified,” Beaubien said.
The body will be transported to the medical examiner’s office, and the investigation is ongoing.
“There is no indication of foul play at this time,” Beaubien said.
