LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Lexington Police say a man shot his wife, then called 911 to report it.
Police arrested 59-year-old Stephon Henderson Wednesday afternoon on charges of murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and violation of an emergency protective order. They said he called 911 around 1:30 p.m., saying he had shot his wife. Police said they responded to the home and found a woman dead.
The Fayette County Coroner has identified 47-year-old Talina Henderson as the woman who died in the shooting.
Court records show the woman had filed a petition for a protective order against Henderson on November 20, saying he had threatened her. That petition, according to court paperwork, was not granted immediately. The “Court Action” section of the petition includes the comment, “No imminent threat”. Instead, a hearing was scheduled for November 30.
Henderson is in the Fayette County Detention Center on a $1 million bond.
