When a 92-year-old woman from South Carolina realized two gunmen had broken into her home recently, she got them to leave in an unexpected way. She just started talking to them. Agnes Ebert, 92, told WPDE she was watching a Hallmark movie when her security system alerted her that her back door was open. That’s when two masked men with guns walked into her home. At first, she thought it was a joke.”That’s what I said to the kids, ‘Is this a joke? Who are you? And is this a joke? I have a lot of boys and boys like to play jokes, but they never played one like this,'” she said. “But they each had a gun.”Ebert said the men walked out of her house and back into the neighborhood. Police are still searching for three suspects they believe are involved in the attempted burglary. The incident has neighbors spooked.Tim Dearmey told WPDE the area has never experienced an incident like this. “A lot of times you leave the house and you’re only going to be gone for an hour so you just leave the doors open,” he said. Ebert said the situation caught her off guard, but stayed true to herself in her response. “You have to be like that. It comes with age I think,” she said. “I have eight children, and almost 30 grandchildren and 27 great-grands, and you just never know what to expect.”
